Yes, we the runners of light and well-being shall be wielding the force, breathing the fresh air and using our fitness to do battle against the dark forces of evil lethargy, sedentary lifestyle with their refined sugar, simple carbs and booze quaffing, TV staring minions… (How to extend a metaphor, eh?)
Ok, so several weeks ago, a number of my students and training school alumni members decided to join me in running the Great South Run on October the 28th this year.
It is a 10 mile run. The biggest 10 mile race in the UK, there is loads of support throughout, lots of noise and cheering and a great event that I have run on a number of occasions before.
If you’d like to join us Jedi Runners, I’ll give you a copy of my Hypnosis For Running audio programme to help you get the mental side of your training in great shape. I’ll also be organising monthly group calls for us all to discuss progress and keep each other supported and inspired. You’ll get seasoned advice, training tips and more than enough motivation to make it to the finish line.
For those local, I’ll organise a couple of runs together too which we can enjoy as part of our preparation. Then on the day, we’ll meet up prior to the start and make sure everyone is pumped and feeling inspired and driven and gives a good account of themselves that day. We’ll also meet up afterwards for drinks, food, to share stories and wear our medals with pride.
If you want to join us, go get your place at the Great South Run organised, then email me and tell me you wish to join the Jedi Runners and I’ll take things from there as we welcome you aboard.
Jedi Runners. Runners who use their mind as well as our legs!
May the force be with us.
Here on the Hypnosis For Running blog, we’ll be charting our progress and I’ll report back as to how we got on when it is all over.
We are going to have a ball – you’ll have achieved something that you set your mind to, we have plenty of time to train properly and it’ll be wonderful fun… Just imagine how great it’ll feel to be sat sharing drinks in the warm glow of the post-race, celebrating together…
Hope to hear from you.
